Big Wheel Keeps on Turnin'

Photobucket

Leaving from New West Quay during the summer are paddlewheel boat tours up the Fraser River by the Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours company. This used to be the standard method of transportation in this part of the country. Actually, at the Quay is a paddlewheel boat museum, the Samson V, which will be featured in a series of upcoming posts.

Baseball stadium in Queen's Park, home of the Salmonbellies. Baseball isn't a very popular sport around these parts, and even on game day the stadium doesn't look much busier than this!

Saintly Sunday

Photobucket

This church rather reminds me of a castle. It is the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Carnarvon Street. From the street, it is tucked away down the hill, and behind some trees. You have to walk on to the church property and around the building to see the old stone facade. The street view is of the more recent church hall addition.

Fringe

Usually these streamers are found at car dealerships, but not this time. These are stretched between the Riva Cafe on the Quay boardwalk, and this unusual lamp.

A sculpture tucked away in the shade of the Herb House Rose Garden in Queen's Park. This garden is a lovely place to walk and contemplate everything that is going on in the world.
