If you don't have much time for dropping things off for charity, this is the solution: the drive-thru charity donation box. This one's for books, but there are also locations where there are two or three of these for different things: clothes, shoes to name a couple. However, I shudder to think what happens to books when they are dropped in there, and then others pile on top!
We have these over here in Yorkshire, though have never seen a book one before. I was thinking exactly that, many books would not land neatly closed and as a book lover I have many and do give books to charity shops, though I tend to walk into them and place them on the counter. By chance today is World Book Day, the only event we have here in Leeds is for children, else I would go with my camera, but these days ask a parent you do not know if you can photograph their child and mostly the say no looking at you as if you are some kind of pervert. Though also I have had people ask if I would take pictures of their kid, I have pro camera gear. Paul @ Leeds daily photo
