Stone

Exploring the bike trails along the SkyTrain led me to this park with its enormous dining table and chairs.

Imperial

Photobucket

Not doing much with this post as I've just had the "new" interface thrown at me and I'm none too impressed. Do you know what this is, and where it is? I'll tell you when I can find the tags once again.

Trillium

Photobucket

Fortunate to see a few little clumps of Trillium on Burnaby mountain. Was a little too late to forage some fiddleheads for supper, however.

Window View

Photobucket

The mountains looked much more spectacular this morning than this picture conveys. This point between New Westminster and downtown Vancouver has one of the most beautiful views.

3 August 2011

To get over jet lag, I have implemented "sun therapy" otherwise known as spending as much time as possible outside. This day I chose to walk around Deer Lake Park, close to the border of New Westminster and Burnaby, but on the Burnaby side. It's a habitat restoration area for riparian wildlife, so better keep your dog on a leash!

Old-timey

Photobucket

This time New Westminster Daily Photo ventures north, just into the city of Burnaby on a visit to the Burnaby Village Museum. The museum is a collection of 1900-1950 era buildings depicting the history of this area. It's celebrating its 40th anniversary, and to celebrate admission is free all summer long!
