Drive-thru
If you don't have much time for dropping things off for charity, this is the solution: the drive-thru charity donation box. This one's for books, but there are also locations where there are two or three of these for different things: clothes, shoes to name a couple. However, I shudder to think what happens to books when they are dropped in there, and then others pile on top!

Read with Pride
New Westminster is gearing up for Diversity Week, a variety of Pride-related activities. The library has caught the Pride spirit - this is the display inside the New West library door.

Books & Bikes
The Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant is decorated in a way that seems to fit New West's pseudo-Victorian image. This is but a portion of the books, bikes, lamps, stained glass windows and even streetcar (yes! filled with tables and chairs!) that fill the restaurant.
The food is also very good - I myself ate the Spaghetti with Mizrithi cheese a la Homer, a dish that legend serves Homer lived off of whilst writing 'Iliad'. Whether or not its true is immaterial; it was delicious!
