Do You Like Living Here?

Photobucket

Interesting sticker on a local traffic light post. People even have answered this question directly on the sticker!

Free

Photobucket

A happy accident as I was lining up this shot of the swings in a park. The gull and me have a lot in common - today we are free!

Stre-e-e-tch!

Photobucket

Just a couple of months ago, those kale were little pipsqueaks. One day I noticed they'd shot up and now stretch well over my head. Crazy plants.

Stone Cold

I posted the back side of this hotel a while ago. This is the front side. Welcoming, isn't it?

L'il one

Photobucket

Another of New Westminster's many heritage homes. I'm always too shy to walk close enough to see the plaque where it says for whom and when this house was constructed.

(B)Lock

Photobucket

A couple of old buildings sitting at the corner of Royal and 10th. They've been well-scaffolded for a while now, so hopefully with spring on its way they'll look much spiffier soon. This block is apparently the oldest standing apartment block in town, according to one source. The heritage house at right was relocated from another site, and is being converted into smaller apartments.

Sometimes there's the most amazing light hitting the buildings.

Another decorative utility box, this time with the old Telford Lock building as backdrop.

Drive-thru

Photobucket

If you don't have much time for dropping things off for charity, this is the solution: the drive-thru charity donation box. This one's for books, but there are also locations where there are two or three of these for different things: clothes, shoes to name a couple. However, I shudder to think what happens to books when they are dropped in there, and then others pile on top!
