On Hiatus

Taking a short break from posting for July to concentrate on some other projects. Leaving you for now with this shot taken Canada Day (1 July) in Gastown in downtown Vancouver.

Out the back window of the bus was a view of the station (white with green) and a few people waiting for a different bus. In all, about 8 different bus routes terminate at the SkyTrain station.

Waiting for the 106 bus on Carnarvon Street behind New Westminster SkyTrain station. Grey everywhere. Across the street: lawyers, dentist, doggy day care, Mexican pizza shop, corner shop, pharmacy, Kumon tutoring, nail spa, CUPW union offices.

Change

There's been a big push lately to replace all of the old bus shelters with new ones. Having stood under both kinds, neither is really good at preventing one from getting soaking wet in strong rain. Really, they're just there for the advertising space.

Wonderland

For the first time, New Westminster Daily Photo leaves the city. This photo was taken in Surrey, just across the river, as I was waiting for the bus to return to New Westminster. This is just a taste of the weather we had over the past 24 hours: snow, then more snow, then snowy rain, then rain.
