I'm not quite sure if these are apartments or not. I get few clues from the windows as I walk by, and have actually never seen a person entering or exiting the building. Love the trees, however.

At the top of the steep bi-level hill of yesterday's post is this rather retro looking corner shop. You can see just off to the right how steep the hill is heading down the other direction. This is sort of the "corner" of the steep hill, if you catch my drift.

Yes, it's steep. That hill is about 12% grade! It's always amused me that one side is steeper than the other.

Queens Avenue United Church, at the corner of Queens and Sixth. They regularly host classical musicians in recital; however, I don't pass by regularly enough to read the advertisement sign out front.

More Mock Tudor

Mock Tudor is a popular style in New Westminster, and in the Vancouver area in general. This example is near Queens and 8th.

Regiment-ed

The Royal Westminster Regiment Historical Society and Museum on Queens Avenue near City Hall. The Royal Westminster Regiment is an active Army Reserve battalion, with units currently stationed in Afghanistan.

This is the regiment after whose mid-19th century soldiers the world's largest tin soldier at the New Westminster Quay was designed.

Sleeping Policeman

These signs always remind me of the book "The Little Prince". Actually, they signify a speed bump and are a warning to slow down.
